The Expression of Love Through Cooking

The Expression of Love Through Cooking   While making this delicious butternut squash soup for my family the words of Monica Castillo ran through my head. One evening while taking Monica's "my open kitchen" class in Malibu , she was describing her joy for food and said " when you cook for your family, that is an expression of love". While cooking this butternut squash soup for my family today that statement really sunk in on so many levels. As I was looking at the bright vibrant colors of the squash, sweet potatoes, celery, curry powder mixed in with the pure white coconut cream I admired this amazing array of healthy food that only our amazing earth could grow for us. All the reasons I love to...

What I am Thankful For! Endless Possibilities

Thankful for Endless Possibilities by: Corinne Denson The days whisk by and still I ponder what is the meaning  of life the more I wonder. The mystery of the mind is so complex,  the more in depth I seem to go and the more the earth seems to glow. The stillness of nature I crave, when there I notice I behave, it seduces me into Zen this instinctual presence where it all began. This deep rooted connection with nature lies the secrets to love the foundation of life while others find it above. The power within you is there to emerge only if you believe this power can be heard. The mystery of wonder is how we evolve, yet answers makes us numb to change at all. The mind and body are uniquely...

Homemade Sauerkraut, Yum!

Homemade Sauerkraut Yum! I have to share with you how easy and delicious making sauerkraut is. After many attempts and struggle I finally got a crock which made the process a lot simpler. A crock is a ceramic pot that you put the cabbage in,  in addition to the crock using clay weights that sit on top of the cabbage while it is fermenting to keep the cabbage submerged under the juices so it does not mold. To view the crock click here Stoneware Crock  The fermentation process only takes about 2-4 days depending on how strong you like your sauerkraut. I like to use one whole green cabbage and a quarter of a purple cabbage. This portion makes a little less than two 16oz mason jars. Directions Cut cabbage into...

Let’s be the change Now

A note from Corinne Hello my friends, The health freedom movement has been a huge part of my life lately. Having a child has fueled my passion and drive to make this world a less corrupt place.  One of the hardest obstacles during this journey of change is convincing people to care about the issues concerning humanity. I have to keep reminding myself that not everyone cares. But being the persistent, relentless person I am I choose to not give up hope that a thought of  interest can manifest into passion and activism .  Somehow that is how we all started anyway. The pressure to succeed, prosper, buy material things and make ends meet are obstacles we all face.  But if your priorities naturally shift because you...
